The British Embassy in Bishkek is part of a worldwide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Temporary Administrative & Finance Assistant that will be responsible for providing administrative and financial assistance to the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) programme team in Central Asia (CA).

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial support to CSSF CA Finance and Programme Manager, including updates to various financial spreadsheets and checking financial reports from project implementing partners;
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for CSSF CA programme related deployments, travel and events;
  • Maintaining programme and project level forward look calendars and informing relevant officers in British Embassies across the CA region of upcoming events, deadlines, etc.;
  • Attending project level and any other events across the CA region and reporting back to CSSF;
  • Other responsibilities as required.

  • Previous experience (at least 2 years) in accounting / financial management and / or logistical and administrative support in an international organisation;
  • Fluent both in English and Russian (written and spoken);
  • MS Office skills (advanced user);
  • Ability to travel across the Central Asia region;
  • Graduate degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher education diploma) in Economics, Finances, Public Policy / Administration or International Affairs.

  • Programme / projects management skills;
  • Knowledge / experience of working in the Central Asian region;
  • Fluent in Kyrgyz (written and spoken).

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 10 months contract until 31 March 2021, 36 hours per week. Working hours from: Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00.

The gross salary per month is USD 1389. Please note 13th monthly salary is paid pro rata in November.

The expected start date is 01 June 2020, however, the successful candidate should be available to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and security clearance.
