The British High Commission in Cyprus is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and would like to recruit a Corporate Services Manager.

The main purpose of this job is effectively lead and manage of the Corporate Services Team. Ensuring that all resources (financial, procurement, estates and assets) are managed effectively taking into account value for money and health and safety. Overseeing all financial operations, including planning, forecasting and budgeting. Efficient delivery of personnel, office and other support services to all Government Departments on the High Commission platform.

Lead and supervise the Corporate Services team in all areas of corporate and administrative services including:

Manage medium-term financial planning to bid for sufficient resources to allow the mission to meet its business objectives, and advise senior management on using the budget once allocated to best effect.

Oversee/manage financial processes to ensure rigorous financial compliance and budget management. Monitor and profile expenditure throughout the Financial Year; ensure that expenditure is commensurate with business objectives; authorise expenditure accordingly.

Oversee the High Commission Estate and the well-being of staff and families on the Estate .Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and a rolling maintenance plan .

Ensure the local implementation and integrity of procurement policy and procedures. Liaise with Procurement hub as necessary.

Working with the HR Hub in Lisbon deliver Human Resources policies and Conditions of Service for Locally Employed (LE) Staff. Ensure compliance with Cypriot Labour Law. Provide guidance on these issues for LE and UK-based staff.

Contribute to the effective management of the High Commission as part of the senior management team.

Act as Line Manager to four members of the Corporate Services team.

-Fluency in English (both oral and written);

-Proven managerial skills;

- Education to degree level ideally in a relevant e.g. business administration, management, HR, finance .A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience;

- Excellent customer service skills with an ability to deal politely and persuasively with individuals across the Mission and beyond;

A team player who also has the confidence and maturity of judgement to work independently and to take decisions;

- General understanding of legislation relating to corporate financial, procurement and HR matters;

- Ability to provide strategic and innovative Corporate Services advice to senior management structures in Nicosia and London, including through project delivery;

- Proficiency in the use of MS Word,MS Excel, MS Outlook and Internet;

- Previous experience in Project and programme management;

-Ability to lead a team and work under pressure both unsupervised and as part of a team-equally comfortable working with senior management as well as with others;

- Ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate it to others;

- Self-motivation and initiative;

- Experience working in an international environment.

-Previous work experience for international organisations;

Fluency in Greek/Turkish ( both oral and written).

The position is full time, temporary position to cover for a maternity leave of 6 months.

The gross monthly salary for this position is €2328.00 at B3 (L) grade level.

The confirmation of appointment is subject to professional background checks and security clearance procedures, as well as the successful completion of a 6 month probation period.

The successful candidate must be free of any convictions, and undergo a UK security clearance process.
