Main purpose of job:

To   support work relating to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s (FCO’s)   prosperity agenda in Chile that focuses on the priority areas of climate   change, energy, science and innovation, mining, smart cities, financial   services and trade policy work.

Roles and responsibilities / what will   the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

Support the Prosperity Section with   office administration and management related duties:

Information   Management:

  • Proactively act as information and translation   officer; maintaining contact databases, organising electronic and paper   files, assisting teams with drafting/translating mailings, website articles,   letters, MOUs etc.
  • Handling incoming phone calls and messages   related the prosperity team.

Event and Project   Management:

  • Assist prosperity policy officers with event   and project administration, including logistics, booking facilities, organising invitations, liaising with suppliers/implementers, assisting with   visitor programmes etc.
  • Assist other Embassy   sections with event administration and implementation during times of peak   activity.

Financial   Management:

  • Manage purchase-to-pay processes for   prosperity section; requesting requisitions, creating purchase orders,   tracking and receipting invoices.
  • Assist prosperity policy officers with monthly and quarterly financial reporting to London on project related budgets.

  • Financial (payments, procurement & budget monitoring) and events/project management experience.

  • Extensive level of Spanish and English essential.

  • 1 or 2 years of experience.
  •  The   ideal candidate would already have some knowledge or work experience related   to one or more of the prosperity section’s priority areas (climate, energy, science   &innovation, mining, financial services, trade policy) .
  • Experience in English/Spanish translation  desirable.
