View Vacancy - Corporate Services Officer - HR, Estates and Finance (NLD22.420)
The British Embassy in The Hague is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are looking for a proactive, Corporate Services Officer (HR, Estates and Finance) to join our team and focus on Welcoming, Informing, Supporting and Empowering all staff at the Embassy from the start of their employment journey to their departure.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Corporate Services and support the whole Mission in the delivery of mainly HR and Estates policy in line with UK government priorities.
This role will allow for partnership and collaboration with staff from across the full Embassy network. This role would suit someone who is customer focussed, organised, creative, preferably with a proven track record in supporting others. Strong communication and organisational skills are prerequisite.
What will you be expected to achieve?
- Handle the formal induction (and departure) of Locally Engaged/ Country Based staff supporting on contract administration, performance management, HR policy, and more and ensuring a smooth transition into roles;
- Handle the formal induction ( and departure) of UK Based diplomats and UK Border Force Staff supporting on health insurance, property move in and out, etc.;
- Communicate and clarify HR and Estates policy to all staff;
- Take the Minutes for HR and Policy related meetings;
- Keep spreadsheets and staff records up to date;
- Handle queries from staff on HR and Estates policy.
The Embassy currently offers a hybrid work pattern. For this role the officer is currently permitted to work from home 2 days a week and can also choose to work 5 days in the office if preferred.
- Fluency in English (C1 level, CEFR*);
- Previous experience in a similar role (admin assistant, office manager, PA, corporate assistant, etc.);
- Comfortable with full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel;
- Customer service / focus, experience interacting with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Creative and results focussed.
- Experience as Human Resources generalist;
- Experience working in international organizations;
- Dutch language would be desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will initially be offered a 12 month contract at AO level. The base salary for this position is € €3,189.21 gross per month, based on a working week of 36 hours. In addition, an 8% holiday allowance and a monthly working from home allowance are payable. Actual commuter travel expenses up to a limit or a monthly set travel allowance for commuter costs are payable depending on the role and how often office work is needed. The Embassy currently applies a performance based bonus pay model for local staff.

The successful candidate will undergo a professional background check; Any job offer is also provisional to a successful security clearance check.
