Procurement

Summary:

Responsible for managing the Regional Procurement activity, supporting the regional procurement head as well as working with customers and other procurement teams across the network developing and co-ordinating delivery of procurement solutions which meet customer requirements and achieve Value for Money for the FCO and HM Government. To work with customers to identify, specify and deliver against Post and Regional requirements for the full range of Goods and Services in all Category Areas.

Job Responsibilities:

This role will require the job holder to work independently on a day to day basis, setting their own goals and targets that align with the wider team. The job holder will need be able to solve problems by weighing up a number of choices that balance the needs of operational efficiency, customer service and procurement policy and in doing so will be making operational decisions that they may need to justify and defend. The job holder will carry out Procurement Lead account manager duties in line with the B3 positions but in addition will also:

  • Be the initial escalation point when customers don’t feel they are receiving a satisfactory service

  • Be a source of support and offer support and advice to the Procurement Team when they are faced with challenges in their work

  • Ensure standardisation of processes and documents between the 2 hubs (DC and Mexico)

  • Flex resources across hubs to ensure manageable workloads for all staff

  • Building capabilities of team members through mentoring, coaching and where necessary, performance management.

  • Work closely with the C4 Regional Procurement Manager in Washington in identifying opportunities for standardisation and continuous process improvements.



  • As a minimum, the applicant must be enrolled with CIPS (actively studying towards level 4 or higher); or CPSM

  • The applicant must have demonstrable line management experience

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English fluency)

  • MCIPS

  • Portuguese a plus
