Main purpose of job:

The function of the Carpenter is to  be part of the Technical Works Group (TWG) team who provides technical support on property issues, health and safety issues and provision of routine maintenance to One HMG Estates (offices and residential buildings). You should be able to:

  • work under pressure,meeting deadlines and staff expectations.
  • demonstrate good management and organisational skills.
  • install,inspect and replace damage structures and fixtures such as Windows, stairways, door frame partition, kitchen cabinets made from wood or other materials whether in office space or residential buildings.
  • measure,cut or shape wood,plastic,fiber glass,dry wall and other materials.
  • construct building frameworks including wall studs,floor joists and door frames.
  • communicate to the estate officer and/or Estates Manager of any problems encountered on site.




  • At least 3 years experience technical experience.
  • Able to prioritise a heavy work load and works well under pressure
  • An open and approachable manner.
  • To be proactive.
  • Customer focus
  • Fluent in English and French
  • A very good knowledge of Freetown and the country.
  • Quality and consistent service with technical expertise
  • Organisational skills
