View Vacancy - HK - DIT Trade Adviser (Rail and Sports Economy)
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Department of International Trade is the arm of UK government responsible for supporting UK companies to export and for attracting foreign investment to the UK. Our work is focused on securing growth and jobs in the UK across sectors and across the country.
Based in Hong Kong, this is an exciting role in a busy team. The successful candidate will support UK railway and sports companies in doing business in Hong Kong, Macau and, working alongside our teams in China, Taipei and the wider South East Asian region. This will be achieved through the delivery of trade missions, events and VIP visits.
What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
- Work with the Rail and Sports Economy High Value Campaign (HVC) team to support delivery of trade activities and targets
- Organise the admininstrative and logistics for trade missions, seminars, receptions and other events e.g. preparation of guest lists and sending out invitation, confirming invitees and event venue, transport, catering etc. Day to day admin for the rail and sports team.
- Supporting the GREAT team on event planning and delivery.
- Support the marketing, communications and audience management side of trade missions to engage our key stakeholders in the run up to the event, including production of a mission brochure.
- Delivery of our Overseas Market Introduction Services to UK companies e.g. research, programme arranging, events.
- Upload Export Opportunities and provide timely responses to UK companies that express interest in the Opportunities
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to produce and edit high-quality written English
- Strong IT skills (particularly Word, Excel)
- High self motivation, a flexible and resilient attitude, with a strong commitment to delivering projects often within tight deadlines, without supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have the appropriate residence status or a valid working visa in Hong Kong
The appointment will be on a permanent contract.
