Main purpose of job:

To safely transport NCA staff to and from official business, conducting daily vehicle inspections and to provide a flexible driving service to the NCA Team as requested including overtime, early start and/or weekend work.

Roles and responsibilities/what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:

1. As NCA Driver

  • Daily check of all vehicles within the official NCA fleet e.g. tyre pressures, hydraulic fluid, oil, radiator, and battery level.
  • Maintenance of all vehicle and paperwork within the NCA fleet in accordance to NCA and local regulations including but not limited to yearly PMS, registration, RFID, etc. Ensure that all paperwork and PMS are up to date.
  • Keep all NCA fleet vehicles clean and serviceable at all times and to report any defects and assisting to ensure their resolution.
  • To ensure the safety and security of passengers and vehicles under your care.
  • To be punctual, honest, courteous and well-dressed at all times.
  • To undertake messengerial duties for pick up/drop off of documents included but not limited to official documents, bank runs, etc.
    • Undertake VIP visit support duties.
  • Provide support during trips, including but not limited to planning routes, arranging visits and assisting with visiting teams as required.
  • Assist NCA UK based staff with administration in order to operate effectively in the Philippines including assistance with personal vehicles.
  • To perform other tasks as directed by the NCA team.

2. Vehicle Maintenance

  • To ensure that vehicles within the NCA fleet remain clean before & after every official trip.
  • To keep a log of all PMS and registration dates and coordinate as needed with CST to get and/ or provide the relevant paperwork.
  • To undertake daily inspections of NCA Fleet vehicles focusing on the following:
    • Brakes
    • Lights
    • Oil
    • Water
    • Air (Tire Pressure)
    • Gas (or Fuel)
    • RFID top up
  • Report any noted defects and accidents immediately to line manager
  • Fuel up vehicles as per guidance (when tank is already half full) & only at designated fuel stations
  • Ensure every official trip is logged on the record book every journey signed off by or any of passengers.

Essential on Arrival:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of Metro Manila major thoroughfares and roads including those leading to the major airport terminals (to include the VIP parking & lounges).
  • Developed knowledge about the location of national & local government offices & agencies.
  • Developed knowledge on the locations of national & local Philippine National Police stations & precincts, and hospitals.
  • Possess a clean police record and a full clean valid driving licence

Desirable:

  • Have basic computer knowledge – at least in MS Word & Excel, and use of the internet for making reports, e-learning courses & other FCO net services
  • Working knowledge of mechanical skills needed to maintain vehicles in a roadworthy condition
  • Good driver customer service protocols and proactive organisational skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Filipino. Good level of spoken and written English.
