Main purpose of job:

 

The intern will support several sections within the Embassy – political, projects, trade, communications, consular and corporate services. Through this opportunity, the Embassy will provide valuable work experience for Ecuadorean university students, and particularly those who are studying in fields of interest to the British Embassy. These include international relations, development studies, human rights, trade, communications and economics.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

 

Political and Communications Intern: The intern will support the political, communications and projects team to prepare reports on key political and economic issues of interest to the UK and support delivery of Embassy-funded projects and events. The intern will also be involved with communications and social media work and will support the consular team with outreach and visits.


Essential on arrival: Interest in trade and political issues.


Desirable:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities.

Project Coordination.

Interest in new communication trends.

Writing skills.

Availability to work 30 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours according to Embassy’s opening hours:

Monday – Thursday: 08.00 – 16.30

Friday: 08.00 – 13.00


6 month Civil Contract


Monthly internship salary of US$400 + IESS contributions paid by Embassy in full


Appointment will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance. The successful candidate will be required to provide timely documentation to support these processes.
