The British Consulate General in Istanbul is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to hire a Stakeholder Liaison Officer to run stakeholder schemes in accordance with service level agreements and act as a liaison point between stakeholders and UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The position requires working as part of a team in a busy section under the direction of our Customer Services Unit.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish/maintain relationships with key partners;
  • Ensure stakeholder schemes are run according to service level agreements;
  • Act as a liaison point between the Ambassador/Consul General and UKVI;
  • Deal with VIP customer applications;
  • Organise and take part in internal and external stakeholder meetings;
  • Attend stakeholder events/functions/workshops on behalf of UKVI;
  • Deal with enquiries from other sections of the Embassy, Consulate General and Honorary Consulates;
  • Prepare informative presentations for stakeholders;
  • Maintain contact and agreement records.
  • A University graduate or have an equivalent degree;
  • A strong communicator with excellent spoken and written Turkish and English;
  • Have a strong understanding of customer service and have experience in dealing with VIP customers, senior officials and other high-ranking customers;
  • Flexible and positive about working in a forward thinking, modern and motivated department, which is working at the forefront of visa work; 
  • An excellent team player; this is an all for one, and one for all environment;
  • Able to remain customer focused, polite and courteous under pressure;
  • Able to manage own work with minimal supervision;
  • Able to work under pressure as part of a large team and complete tasks to an agreed standard;
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experienced in giving presentations;
  • Experienced in corresponding with government officials.

This is a full-time permanent contract for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.

The annual salary for this position is 58,446.08 TL gross, A2 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months.
