The British Embassy in Chisinau is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to employ a Corporate Services Manager. The successful jobholder will provide strategic leadership to the Corporate Services Team to ensure efficient, effective and transparent delivery of all services to the Embassy including HR, estates management, Health and Safety and Procurement; to deliver quality value for money support to the One HMG team; and to advise senior management on budget spend and forecast, corporate services policy and best practice, in order to foster a high level of morale and operational effectiveness across the Embassy.

In more detail, main responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership on the provision of efficient, cost-effective and customer-focused corporate services in accordance with agreed service delivery standards and current policies;
  • Providing leadership and wider support: working hand in hand with the Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission supporting high levels of professionalism across the Embassy and embedding diplomatic excellence.;
  • Manage a local budget of £400k liaising with the regional finance hub and stakeholders at the embassy to ensure that the local budget is effectively managed, delivers value for money and that safeguards and processes conforming to Government requirements and best practice are in place. Provide accurate and informed forecasting of expenditure;
  • Estates – management of the Embassy estate which includes the Embassy building and five rented residential properties ensuring that the properties are fit for purpose, comply with health and safety regulations and represent value for money;
  • Procurement – to lead the procurement for the Embassy ensuring effectively delivery of procurement of all goods and services for the Embassy and achieving value for money;
  • HR – to lead the HR policy in consultation with the regional HR hub to ensure that HR policies are delivered effectively and that recruitment processes meet Embassy requirements;
  • Other duties are required.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and wriiten);
  • Fluency in Romanian and Russian (both oral and written);
  • Leadership and / or staff management experience;
  • Experience working in corporate services (Finance / Budget management, HR, Estates);
  • Experience in Procurement;
  • Good organisation and interpersonal skills;
  • IT skills: Outlook, MS Office.

This is a full-time permanent contract. Gross monthly salary is 25,452 MLD and weekly working hours are 35 net.
