Driver / Messenger

The British Embassy in Kyiv is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Driver to ensure smooth and timely execution of journeys according to the appointment calendars of the Ambassador and other staff members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Embassy cars in operable and presentable condition;
  • Participate in logistical preparations of high-level visits, including driving schedules etc;
  • Provide technical and other support to the professional running of the Embassy, incl. operating of reception, general caretaking etc;
  • Contribute to a cooperative work place by assisting colleagues including other teams when needed and within competencies and capacities;
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by the Embassy’s management.
  • High-school education;
  • Drivers licence and minimum 5 years’ experience;
  • Basic IT competencies and readiness to become proficient at specific IT applications such as FireCrest, etc;
  • Intermediate communication skills both oral and written in English;
  • Command of Russian/Ukrainian and readiness to improve English skills;
  • Well-developed sense of safety; presentable appearance; service and customer focus approach.
  • Experience of driving for an international organisation;
  • Experience of driving armored vehicles.

The appointment is a full-time permanent position.

This is a full-time position of 40 working hours per week (in shifts with other drivers).

All applicants should have the right to live and work in Ukraine. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.
