Corporate Services Support

Main purpose of job:


We are recruiting two interns: one to join our Corporate Services team and one to join our Prosperity team.

 

The interns will support both sections with a range of duties aimed at strengthening the relationship between the UK and Chile and promoting the UK to a targeted Chilean audience.


Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

 

The Corporate Services intern will:

  • Provide logistical support for march in/march out of UK diplomatic officers
  • Support and supervision of works/contractors during refurbishment works in the Embassy
  • Support the team with online research for quotes, purchase of materials etc. for procurement processes
  • Assist in relationships with suppliers and contractors
  • Other administrative activities and assistance required by the staff (filing, collating information).

 

The Prosperity intern will:

  • Support the team with project and event management logistics including: booking facilities, managing invitations, liaising with suppliers/implementers, assisting with visitor programmes etc;
  • Assist with information management: researching information and contacts (UK and Chilean) in priority areas for the team eg science, energy and infrastructure.
  • Assist with translations

Keep updated stakeholders database

Corporate Services intern:

  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service

            IT Skills (basic Microsoft Office)

  • Construction knowledge would be a plus
  • Some project management experience
  • Time management and good organizational skills

 

 

Prosperity intern:

  • Ideally some project, event management or customer service experience
  • Research experience (sources, internet searches)
  • IT skills (basic Microsoft Office)
  • High organizational skills desirable
  • Good public relations skills

Language requirements:

Language:  English and Spanish

 

Level of language required: Fluent Spanish. Ideally business level in both written and spoken English but candidates with a lower standard of English will also be considered

If the job is suitable for flexible working patterns, please provide details: The intern will work full-time during their internship. The Embassy’s working hours are 0900-1730 Mon-Thurs and 0900-1300 on Friday.
