Security

Security

- Daily oversight and line management of 6 Consulate Security Guards; 4 guarding the CG residence and 2 guarding the British Consulate.

- Work closely with senior management to establish and maintain a culture of security awareness; give six monthly presentations on security to all staff.

-Brief all LE staff new arrivals on security.

-Ensure UKBased staff arrivals are briefed by Head of Security.

- Supervise and, where necessary, arrange maintenance of security equipment (metal detector arches, X-ray scanners, CCTV, radios etc).

- Conduct periodical physical security checks of UK staff residences and properties and compile a report on such checks for the Head of Security.

- Prepare monthly briefings on security; in particular crime statistics, and report to Head of Security in Brasilia.

- Build a network of contacts across the security nexus; including police, fire, civil contingency and other.

-Attend functions and build key relationships with other embassies, particularly the five is community.

- Conduct emergency response drills, including intruder exercise and fire alarm tests.

Transport & Logistics

- Ensure that vehicle logbooks and car documents are up to date and comply with local/UK regulations.

- Daily management of 1 Consulate driver. Ensure that all transport requests are dealt with efficiently, providing alternative transport when required.

- Assist with the purchasing and disposing of official vehicles.

- Ensure effective maintenance of all official fleet vehicles.

- Work closely with colleagues across the network on official visits.

- Deal with incoming and outgoing diplomatic and freight bags.

Local knowledge of Sao Paulo

Desirable: Security Background; Corporate/Military/Security
