Main purpose of job:

Chef to the British Ambassador


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide catering for the British Ambassador including lunches and evening dinners and receptions
  • Devise menu options in liaison with the Ambassador
  • Provide refreshments for Ambassador’s office
  • To buy good quality food and drinks for the Residence and achieve value for money.  Anticipate requirements
  • Ensuring that the kitchen is kept in a hygienic and orderly state
  • Conduct health and safety checks
  • Supervise supplementary staff

Language requirements: 

Language: English

Level of language required: Fluent

Must be an accomplished chef with a minimum of two years’ experience providing catering at a high level.

Learning and development opportunities (and any specific training courses to be completed):

The applicant can be given training to update culinary skills, first aid and book-keeping


Working patterns: 0900 - 1700.

The applicant will also be required to work evenings and weekends as needed which will be paid as overtime.
