View Vacancy - Driver S1 (20/19 ADD) - No successful candidate
Main purpose of job:
Driver is responsible to provide transport service to all HMG’s staff and , visitors to and from assigned destinations and gives relevant assistance in line with transport policy and respective safety rules.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Be familiar with and follow the service standard as set out in the transport policy
- Provide timely transport service in a safe and lawful manner at all times,
- Adhere to driver and passenger health and safety rules when driving
- Check and carry out daily inspection to ensure the vehicles are fit and safe to drive, including the weekly radio checks and kit inspection
- Drive British Embassy official vehicles on all assigned official businesses and fields trips,
- Ensure clear communication with the stakeholders when on official duty, customers and supervising team
- Report to the Line Manager whenever any defect is found on the vehicle,
- Maintain and submit a record of all journeys,
- Make sure you hold a valid driving licence and ensure it remains valid to comply with insurance coverage requirements where needed,
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and serviceable,
- Maintain the safety and security of documents and goods,
- Deliver letters and documents to the right place at the right time,
- Follow and implement transport policy and safely rules while driving vehicles,
- Perform other duties given by supervisor

Working patterns:
Willing to work extended shift from 05:00AM to 23:00PM as needed.
Annual Leave and Public Holidays:
Locally engaged staff of all grades will be entitled to paid annual leave as follows:
Up to 2 years 22 days
After 2 years services 25 days
After 5 years services 30 days
In addition to annual leave, the British Embassy observes up to a maximum number of 14 Ethiopian, British and Religious public holidays each year. A list of such Embassy holidays will be published each year. Office Staff required to work on these holidays will be granted time off in lieu or overtime where circumstances permit.
