Main purpose of job:

To engage directly with the Ambassador and learn the workings of a high level diplomat and the foreign mission. The intern will gain experience by attending meetings, writing public materials, drafting tweets, researching on a range of topics and preparing notes.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

1.     Do research work on range of exciting topics as assigned and prepare briefing notes.

2.     Gain experience in attending various meetings with the Ambassador, maintain notes of meetings.

3.     Learn and implement blog writing skills by assisting the Ambassador with his blog.

4.     Learn how to manage the Ambassador’s twitter account and sharing appropriate information via twitter.

5.     Learn how the different section of Embassy work by way of regular meetings with various team and prepare updates for Ambassador.

6.     Gain experience managing diaries of the Ambassador and Senior Managers.

7.     Help manage external and internal events including the GREAT campaign, the Queen’s Birthday Party, and the #IndonesiaMatters discussion series.

  • A Post-Graduate degree majoring in subjects such as Economics, International Relations, or Politics (fresh post-graduates are also welcome to apply). 
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written. 
  • Proactive and a fast learner. 
  • Good understanding in current issues and proven experience of working in multi-cultural organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills and good judgement. 
-          A sound understanding of writing in social media to interact with audience on a regular basis
