A full-time position as Residence Chef has become available at the British Embassy in Luxembourg.

The main Purpose of Job is to provide high-quality catering for the Ambassador’s Residence in Luxembourg, and wider Residence support as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The job-holder will be the Chef at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Luxembourg and will be responsible for preparing high-quality working meals (breakfast, lunch, dinners) and refreshments for senior stakeholders from Luxembourg the UK and other partners e.g. EU institutions, to support engagement by the Ambassador and, as needed, other Embassy staff. The job-holder will also be responsible for preparing catering for Embassy events, with support from other Residence staff and catering contractors as needed.

As part of the responsibilities, the job-holder will need to select and buy the necessary ingredients for preparing meals and catering, as well as other kitchen equipment where necessary.

The successful candidate may be required to provide wider Residence support e.g. helping with set-up for major events.


  • Experience as a chef, ideally with a formal chef/catering qualification.
  • It would be desirable to have previous experience in an Embassy or diplomatic representation.
  • Valid driving licence.

This is a full-time position, for a 18 months fixed-term contract.

The advertised annual salary includes a 13th month salary bonus payment which is also part of the remuneration pack.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
