Main purpose of job:

To provide assistance to the IEI Team in daily management of the office. To liaise with the Visa Section in Pretoria and with external partners to assist in meeting IEI Africa’s business objectives. To collate and process data obtained from the IEI Africa Region, the Home Office and external partners.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist the Immigration Liaison Duty Officer with the daily management of the office.
  • Provide effective and timely responses to referrals from ECO’s, ILO’s and ILM’s and conduct checks on their behalf.
  • Liaise with airlines and airport security companies.
  • Process Allegations.  
  • Update the databases on a regular basis with information received from ILO, ILM, airlines, and results of document verifications received from the UKVI Enrichment Unit.
  • Manage the IEI inbox: ensure queries sent to IEI Pretoria Inbox are dealt with by relevant ILM’s and ILO’s, and statistical data received from the UK and other organisations is processed correctly and on time.
  • Ensure all documents and intelligence are stored and disseminated within the parameters of Home Office guidance.

Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), strong analytical skills

  • The British High Commission pays in full for the Key Care Plus option on Discovery Health for staff including spouses/partners and dependants.
  • Once you have successfully completed your probation the British High Commission will contribute 9% of your monthly salary to a Provident Fund.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 25 day

Employment will be subject to obtaining the appropriate security clearance.
