View Vacancy - Deputy Head of Corporate Services
To provide support to the Head of Corporate Services (HCS).
The Deputy Head of Corporate Services (DHCS) will be responsible for the Embassy’s financial management, including the management of budgets, forecasting, cash management and the administration of the Embassy’s banking system.
The Head of Corporate Services position will become vacant in approximately two years’ time. The successful candidate for the DHCS position would be considered a good candidate to fill the HCS role when it becomes vacant.
Financial
- Overall financial management of up to £1 million per month, authorising all payments, ensuring that value-for-money checks have been carried out and that procurement policy has been followed.
- Manage, with the head of team’s oversight, the Embassy’s finances, including budgeting, reporting and forecasting.
- Ensure that key performance indicators are met (and exceeded), producing regular financial reports for senior management.
- Regular engagement with regional financial hub based in Mexico City, supporting both the regional hub and the Embassy with all finance and procurement processes.
- Manage relationship with Embassy’s banking provider
- Risk management of Embassy finances and provision of mitigations where necessary
Additional Priorities
- Project manage ad hoc projects, for example, property purchases, building works etc.
- Manage relationship with healthcare providers
- Regular negotiations with Embassy suppliers to ensure value for money is being provided
- Oversight and supervision of the following: freight contract; travel and banking implants within the Embassy; transport fleet; transport, stationery, uniform and mobile phone policies.
- Deputise for head of team as required.

Resources managed:
Line manage three staff: 1 Accountant, 1 IT Officer and 1 HR/Transport Officer
Essential on arrival:
3-5 years’ relevant work experience in a management role at a medium (100-200 personnel) or larger sized company
Previous financial management experience
Line management, negotiation and customer service experience
Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
Language: English
Level of language required: Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish
Candidate will have access to internal training and job shadowing.
