View Vacancy - Estates Team Helper - S2
Main purpose of job:
The main responsibility of this job is to assist with works requests for new furnishings and equipment on site, moving them between the stores to various locations and escorting contractors around the Embassy site.
The successful candidate will join the Corporate Services Team at the British Embassy Kabul which provides essential support to all sections ensuring they have the necessary resources to function successfully. The Estates team helper is responsible for the movement of items from the stores to accommodation and offices, as well as covering for colleagues in a busy estate team which provides services to a wide range of Government Departments.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Assist with porterage duties for accommodation moves and Embassy refurbishment as well as manage the setting up of major BEK events (e.g.: QBP, Balls and Markets), placing furniture into various sites, setting up the PA system and other related duties.
- Work closely with the KBR Health and Safety Officer to assist with regular inspection of fire fighting equipment around the Embassy estates (for example regular checks on the fire extinguishers).
- Provide escort duty to outside to suppliers and move goods and furniture around the BEK site.
- Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Estates Manager
Other skills / experience / qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or at least high schoole diploma ‘’12th grade graduated’’
- Essential on arrival: 2+ year experience of customer service
- Good drafting skills in Dari and English with ability of translation in both the languages
- Good computer literacy and using Microsoft office in regard of word, excel, outlook etc
- Desirable: Able to operate Forklift would be an advantage but training can be given
SALARY PACKAGE
The Local Staff Terms & Conditions for staff working in the British embassy will apply.
For external candidates, salary will be $814.80 (Gross) per month with $100 transport and $125 medical allowances.
