The British Embassy in Paris is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. It is also part of the UK’s France Network (with offices in Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille) and includes British representation to international organisations in Paris (OECD and UNESCO) and Strasbourg (CoE).


In March 2017, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge launched our Les Voisins campaign, which celebrates the strong personal ties that exist for many between France and Great Britain. This campaign complements the British Government’s wider global GREAT campaign showcasing the best of what Great Britain has to offer to inspire the world and encourage people to visit, do business, invest and study in the UK. The British Embassy in Paris is now looking for an experienced and dynamic marketing professional, GREAT Campaign Coordinator B3(L) based in Paris to conceive and deliver first class campaign activities.

The main purpose of the job is to deepen existing ties and build new links between France and the UK, by conceiving and delivering excellent activities, that showcase Britain’s excellence, what is familiar about the UK and what is new and surprising about the country. In particular the job’s purpose is to:


  • Be the coordinator for GREAT funded campaign activity in France, primarily in relation to DIT trade and investment campaigns and Great Challenge Funded activities. The jobholder will be required to bid for British government funds and then manage and report on their usage, linking London with local leadership, marketing and sector teams;
  • Conceive, plan and deliver excellent and innovative events that deliver British Embassy in Paris and GREAT campaign objectives, often mixing soft power outreach with achieving commercial impact;
  • Ensure the GREAT Invest and Export marketing campaigns receive effective creative support, digital coverage and language checks, working with Marketing Manager;
  • Support the global GREAT network, through the Government’s international marketing hubs and other primary GREAT campaign target countries.

 


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Project manage GREAT campaign – bidding for funding, overseeing implementation and reporting on impact
  • Develop and implement the best strategy for achieving GREAT campaign objectives, analyzing the available consumer research to determine the best approach, using all channels and exploiting all appropriate digital opportunities;
  • Create and lead effective virtual project teams with key stakeholders ensuring regular communications;
  • Provide metrics and feedback of the GREAT campaign in France and provide insight and feedback to the campaign strategy team. Ensure KPIs and targets are met and properly reported;
  • Develop necessary business cases, procuring externally where that offers greatest value for money and ensure departmental compliance at all times.

  • Marketing and event management experience;
  • Creativity and excellent networking / relationship-building skills with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver results;
  • The ability to complete work to a high standard under pressure and the ability to manage competing demands and priorities effectively;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French (this will be tested during the interview).

 

  • Knowledge of the UK;
  • Design expertise (design photoshop);
  • Social media expertise;
  • Experience of working in a policy context and international environment;
  • Experience managing budgets;
  • An existing network.

This is a full-time and fixed-term position, with duration of 12 months (CDD contract).
