The British Embassy in Minsk is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas.  The Embassy is seeking to recruit a Deputy Security and Transport Manager to join the Security and Transport team based in Minsk.  

The jobholder will be part of a small team which is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment at the Embassy and will support the Security and Transport Manager.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

The jobholder should be able to respond in a professional manner to any security incident or situation.  Regular duties include, but are not exclusive to:

  • Supervise access to the building(s);
  • Supervise security and other work in and around the offices and the staff accommodation;
  • Deal with the public in a courteous and efficient manner;
  • Safety and first aid equipment;
  • Checking and testing fire;
  • Incident and other emergency alarm equipment;
  • Check all incoming post and deliveries;
  • Perform driving duties as required;
  • Perform any other duties required by the Security Manager;
  • Covering for absences by the Security and Transport Manager.
  • Previous security experience;
  • Good communicator and written communication skills in English, Belarusian and Russian, including the ability to deliver training and write reports;
  • Flexibility and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure;
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to work without close supervision;
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly with others;
  • Ability to understand and respond to customer's needs;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • 3 years full, clean driving licence and professional driving skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and web applications.
  • Security experience at supervisory level;
  • First Aid and or/knowledge of First Aid procedures and delivery experience;
  • Working in an international environment.

This is a fixed-term full-time position, five working days, 36 hours net per week (flexible with core hours).

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Belarus are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Belarus employment law.
