Main purpose of job:

To line manage and oversee 2 x A1 members of the Security department, (Security Admin Officers) who are directly responsible for office admin, BHC ID’s and daily access  of visitors / guests in Diplomatic Enclave. Work with the Deputy Overseas Security manager in overseeing the security guarding contract to the British High Commission through close liaison and cooperation with the contracted company.  Currently this manpower stands at circa 450 men.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all logs paperwork and messaging to Guards is carried in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor the performance of the provider noting any discrepancies to the DOSM for further action as soon as they are apparent. 
  • Request additional manpower for events billing the department responsible where appropriate.
  • Randomly check properties and shifts throughout the month to independently verify contract compliance.
  • Keep records of all correspondence to the provider for discussion at the monthly KPI meeting.
  • Ensure all PO’s are completed and followed up in line with FCO regulations
  • Ensure Guards radio network is operational and organise random radio checks
  • Liaise with house occupants to ensure safe batteries are working and that safes are functional.
  • Work with the provider to ensure all alarms are functioning correctly and randomly test at least two houses per month noting response times.
  • Cover duties of SSM when he is absent on leave/sick.
  • Any other Task Assigned by the Line Manager and OSM/SSM.

Resources managed (staff and expenditure):  2 x SAO and 450 guards.

  • Previous experience working for a disciplined organisation, armed services, police or at least 3 years experience in liaison and security management.
