Political
  • Manage the local financial spend on UK Counter Terrorism Programme Fund related projects and programmes, to support and monitor delivery, evaluate and conduct impact assessments, with a clear focus on value for money and delivering sustainability and impact.Understand the Indonesian government’s long and short-term policy approaches to the security environment;

  • Contribute to the UK CT agenda in Indonesia;

  • Develop and maintain an excellent network of senior level contacts; across central and local government, law enforcement, academia, politics and civil society;
  • Spot innovative opportunities to help deliver UK Counter-Terrorism policy priorities and offer advice on handling any associated risks;

  • Facilitate bilateral governmental and police related visits and events;

  • Develop strong working relations with all teams in the Embassy;

  • Assist the wider political team and rest of Embassy as required.

Essential on arrival: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • At least three years of experience in project management including finance or budget management, and experience in political, research, or related fields;
  • A keen sense of honesty, integrity, confidentiality;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a small team and be adaptable to the working environment;
  • Very good IT skills and experience, including MS Office, Project management packages;
  • A positive attitude to working flexible hours, able to work on own initiative, and an ability to work to deadlines;
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Knowledge of the UK’s CT Strategy.
