View Vacancy - Procurement Coordinator - United Kingdom Defence Procurement Office
Main purpose of job:
As part of the United Kingdom Defence Procurement Office (UKDPO), the job is to provide procurement and commercial administrative support and advice to support the British Defence Staff based in the US and potentially customers within the UK Ministry of Defence.
The post is a great opportunity to continue to develop the priciples of procurement/contracting and administrative skills in a Defence environment, or to commence a career in a procurement role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic procurement advice and guidance, and sound administrative activities in support of the British Defence Staff based in the US.
- Provide administrative support to the Commercial/Procurement team and the existing contractual portfolio, invoicing processing, monitoring and prompt payments, resolution of day-day issues, contract filing, recording and updating, regular internal and external communication, electronic record keeping and filing, archiving, and wider planning and administrative activities.
- Key support to assist the Commercial Officer and wider team to help deliver procurement programmes, outputs including preparation of formal contract amendments and correspondence.
- To help negotiate, place and manage low-value procurement requirements, including assisting and approving business cases, preparation of Tender/Contract documentation, liaison with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Attendance, participation and contribution at internal and external contract and programme reviews to ensure effective contract management and delivery.
- 3-5 years administrative experience, if possible in a commercial/procurement environment.
- Admin skills, and proficiency including the Microsoft office suite, and Oracle payment systems.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and prioritising skills.

- Previous commercial/procurement experience
- Applicant to be Degree educated, preferable in a business or administrative subject.
- Previous knowledge and experience of working for or within a foreign government.
