View Vacancy - Agricultural Technologies Internship
Main purpose of job:
Support the Department of International Trade (DIT) Agri-Tech Team in Brazil in its delivery of the Agri-Tech Latin America High Value Campaign, an export promotion and trade development plan for increasing export of agricultural technologies (goods and services deployed before the farm gate) to a selection of Latin American markets. For Brazil, the activities are largely focussed on supporting Brazilian-based UK companies with their business development, and attracting new exporters into market. This is an ideal opportunity for a student who wants to gain experience to pursue a future international career in Agribusiness or in Trade, and to learn client management skills.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to the Department of International Trade Agri-Tech Team.
- Keeping and updating records of interactions with clients on Client Relationship Management systems, under the guidance of the sector manager.
- Organising travel agendas and logistic arrangements for the Agri-Tech Sector Manager.
- Assisting in the preparation of market research reports, internal briefings, and visiting programmes for clients.
- Scoping business opportunities for UK companies, through cold calls and meetings.
- Accompanying meetings with Brazilian and UK companies, both virtually and in person.
- Analysing trade data, news, and sector information related to Agricultural Technologies.
- Occasional support to the wider Strategic Relationships Team, as required.
- Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business Administration, International Trade, Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, or Economics.
- IT literate, specially in the Microsoft Office Package.
- Proactive self-starter, willing to “go the extra mile”.
- Collaborative, responsible, communicative and creative.
- Any past internship, particularly if working at a commercial role; sector-specific knowledge.
