Trade Assistant (Cross-sector) and Digital lead – to assist the trade managers in every aspect of their duties including administrative tasks such as setting up meetings, arranging travel and providing briefings for meetings.  You will assist the trade managers to deliver their export win targets by carrying out desk-based research under the direction of the managers and interacting with British and Thai companies to help them understand the opportunities available for British companies in Thailand (60%)

Set up, develop, and provide content for DIT through social media platforms such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and any other emerging technologies and social media platforms. (40%)


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • (Corporate strategy focus):  conduct market and company research primarily in the agritech and infrastructure sectors and any other sectors of interest to DIT, to understand target company business model, product lines and growth stage, develop brief company profiles for use by the sector manager and British companies to help uncover synergies between firms for matching as potential business partners, investors and customers;
  • (Business development focus):  develop target lists of companies and best contacts within these companies depending on the product and/or service solution we are assessing local demand for;
  • (Client research): Assist Trade Managers on researching specific market opportunities and sectors and assist in the compilation of market intelligence reports
  • Social Media: Responsible for setting up, managing and developing content for DIT’s social media platforms across LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Good communicator at all levels, spoken and written
  • Knowledge of how social media can be used to highlight our work in Thailand
  • A flair for developing eye-catching and original content for social media
  • Strong administration and organisation skills
  • Flexible and reactive to new issues and priorities
  • Ability to work at pace and prioritise, managing a sometimes heavy workload.
  • Ability to liaise with and manage external stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in completing timely and accurate written information in English.
  • IT proficiency – Using MS Office, Outlook and ability to learn FCO systems.
  • Ability to travel within Thailand and Asia
  • Keen interest in business and trade
  • Experience of living in or understanding of the United Kingdom, British people and culture
