The British Embassy in Estonia is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for an Investment Adviser Baltics for the Department for International Trade (DIT) based in Tallinn.

As an Investment Adviser Baltics, you will be part of the two-person section in the Embassy which encourages and helps Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian companies to expand to and in UK. You will support the Head of Section to research, identify, generate and manage projects from companies in these three markets. You will also need to respond to enquiries, undertake detailed market research and organise marketing and other events, as well as carry out various administrative tasks. You will represent DIT in meetings with contacts and at relevant events. As part of the job, you will be required to travel in the Baltic region and the UK.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To actively research and approach innovative and global growth oriented Baltic companies operating in different sectors with the UK offer by contacting and meeting them in the Baltics and the UK;
  • To work with and expand the network of partners and multipliers in the Baltics as well as in the UK. Visit and organise participation at targeted partner events in the Baltics and the UK;
  • To consistently and timely respond, log and manage the incoming client and partner inquiries (CRM);

  • To be a confident, enthusiastic self-starter, target driven, sales orientated, proactive, have knowledge of working with pipelines;
  • A good communicator in building and maintaining successful client and partner relationships;
  • The language of work is English, in which fluency - both oral and in writing – is a must, including when speaking in public.
  • Have relevant work experience in the private and/or public sector;
  • Have a university degree or 3-year work experience in related field;
  • Knowledge of Estonian plus Latvian, Lithuanian and/or Russian would be an advantage;
  • Experience in working with start-ups and scale-ups would be an advantage;
  • Experience in project management and working in international teams would be an advantage;

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract of 18 months to cover a maternity leave. Working hours Monday to Friday from 0900 to 1700 hrs (40 hours gross per week).

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance.
