View Vacancy - Political and Communications Interns (04/18 YAO)
To support the political and communications team on key tasks: political research, media monitoring, digital communication, events management support and customer-focus services (frontline delivery).
This is a varied and interesting position, which covers a wide range of policy and project related tasks as well as administrative task. It will involve contact with most sections of the High Commission.
The job provides an opportunity to learn and contribute to public diplomacy first hand in a fast-paced environment. The intern will provide support for the political and communications team, as well as support on events.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
- Carry out a daily review of print and online media and produce summary political reports for internal and external distribution.
- Create social media content on Web, Facebook and Twitter to support HMG priorities
- Organise public diplomacy events
- Support political and communications team on day to day running of section
- Conduct desktop research
- Customer service: responding to inquiries
- Provide support to other sections
Fields of study:
Field of study include political science, economics, communication, development, information technology, international relations and law. A degree in any other field with strong evidence of interest in political communications will also be considered.
Experience in report/article writing
- Fluent in French language
Applicants should be holders of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or in the final year of a bachelor degree programme or currently in a master degree programme.
Graduates with a higher degree who have already completed all of their studies are not eligible to participate in the internship programme. Students who have completed in-class studies and are required to complete an internship as a requirement for the award of their diploma/degree are eligible.
