  • You will maintain the Section’s contact database and oversee the many official visitors to Geneva, ensuring that they are appropriately accredited and have the necessary passes. You will ensure that incoming communications are allocated to the relevant policy lead;
  • You will lead on the regular weekly reporting back to London of the Section’s work. You will also develop a broader, strategic view of international events outside Geneva, across the economic, trade and innovation space, where these overlap with our interests here or the work of the Geneva agencies;
  • You will lead on the planning of some visits to Geneva by UK Ministers or senior officials, working with the UK Mission’s visits team and the relevant policy officers, and will lead on aspects of the planning for ministerial/diplomatic conferences, the annual WTO Public Forum and the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos;
  • You will provide support for the Permanent Representative/Deputy Permanent Representative during governing bodies in the economic agencies, working with the relevant desk officers;
  • You will monitor and report cross-cutting trade, protectionism and innovation trends;
  • Other policy and administrative support to the PR, DPR and team, including overseeing the budget for the section, ensuring proper forecasting and reporting of the section’s spend.
