Main purpose of job:

To provide administrative and logistic support to the Political and Prosperity Teams

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

  • Act as administrative lead for the Prosperity and Political Teams including organising meetings, preparing notes to Government requesting meetings, following up with Government departments, coordinating travel authorisations. Responsible for logistical tasks within the team including air ticket and hotel reservation, car rental, visa process, assist in organizing the travel programme as necessary.
  • Lead on event management, including preparation of invitations and follow up, management of guest lists, preparation of placement, and liaison with suppliers on quotations.
  • Lead on logistics and programme management for visitors and delegations, both to and from the UK, working closely with policy leads, our security team and external contacts.
  • Manage administrative of the Prosperity and Political team budgets, and support wider team financial functions such as processing expenses. Be responsible for the P2P process, accounting for Prosperity-Political team expenditure
  • Take on other ad hoc tasks as required by the teams.

Resources managed (staff and expenditure):

  • Political and Prosperity team budgets of approx. £30,000
  • Language: Fluent in both Burmese and English
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Good English and Burmese language skills, both written and spoken
  • Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience of a similar role in another Embassy, NGO or international organization
