Main purpose of job: 

To ensure smooth functioning of the High Commissioner’s residence, managing 18 staff, a footfall of 11000 guests over 300 events a year, with 250 guest nights.

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Organise & liaise for all 2RM events - Plan all meal schedules & menus            
  • Ensure High standard of food & service for guests & events
  • Ensure Residence, Garden lawns & vegetable garden is well maintained
  • Share monthly event schedules with necessary teams in advance
  • To be present for official & social events in order to manage logistics and supervise catering
  • To manage budgets and plan ahead for each financial year
  • Make regular work requests and liaise with estates team for residence maintenance
  • Supervise & manage entire Residence team on daily basis                                                
  • Look after welfare needs of all staff living on 2RM compound; ensure staff compound is well maintained & clean
  • Responsible for Residence food and drink records    
  • Maintain HC’s Non-official expenditure account
  • Maintain inventory of cellar, kitchen, pantry

Resources managed:

  • Managing 18 Staff members (Cooks, bearers, cleaners, gardeners, chambermaid, Laundry Person, driver)
  • Maintaining household records and accounts

Language requirements:  

Language:      English 

Level of language required:       Very Good

Essential on arrival:

  • 7 -10 yrs work experience.
  • Willingness to work with some flexibility to stay for official and social events
  • Sound knowledge of global cuisines to be able to guide and instruct the cooks
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of budget planning

Desirable:

  • To have an understanding of food and wines.
  • Be a strong team player
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of domestic staff
  • Strong leadership qualities

Salary Package: 

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. 

For other than BHC candidates, salary will be ­­­­­­INR 57,904 per month + 12% provident fund + 6% Superannuation Fund/ Special Allowance.
