Department for International Trade (DIT)

The Intern will assist the Department for International Trade (DIT) team in the delivery of various High Value Campaign projects e.g. Education Mission, Technology Mission, Water and Infrastructure Forum, and other business-focused events. The intern will also play a key role as part of the delivery team, working alongside colleagues from DIT, the Economic section of the Embassy, and the British Chamber of Commerce. He/she will also assist the DIT in identifying export opportunities, disseminating such opportunities via the DIT portal, and managing/recording client feedback. He/she will also assist in uploading Service Deliveries into the DIT’s CDMS.  

 

  • Monitor business and economic news relevant to specific sectors and help in identifying and encoding “Export Opportunities”, as well as "Service Deliveries" into the DIT portal
  • Perform operational and administrative functions to assist in the delivery of DIT projects and trade/investment events, to ensure that these activities go smoothly and any problems arising are resolved swiftly
  • Conduct market research, validation of local contacts, and arrangement of meetings to assist UK companies do business in the Philippines
  • Assist in other administrative requirements, as necessary
  • Willing to work full-time at DIT for 6 consecutive months
  • Background in business, research, economics or related courses
  • With IT knowledge, e.g. Word and Excel
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
