Main purpose of job

Intern at the British Consulate in Monterrey, Mexico, to assist DIT officers (Commercial).

What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

  • Market research
  • Verification of contacts
  • Public Relations 
  • Interaction with local and UK companies
  • Support in the organisation of trade events, trade missions and visit programmes
  • Ad hoc support, as and when required 

Essential on arrival:

  • University student studying a relevant topic (e.g. International Relations, Commercial, Marketing, Business Studies)
  • Interest and/or background in market research / commercial topics
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)

Desirable

  • Background and/or previous experience in International Relations
  • Public Relation skills - to conduct research and verification of contact details (via internet, telephone, email, etc.)
