The British Embassy in Yangon is seeking an individual for the position of Ambassador’s Residence Manager.


Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

  • Supervise the day to day activities of the diplomatic residence
  • Supervise for running of events / functions
  • Maintain records of household and entertainment expenditure
  • Line manage a small team of residence staff
  • Liaise with Embassy Staff and external contacts
  • Previous recent experience with a proven track record in an international standard hotel, diplomatic residence or equivalent
  • Ability to create a collaborative caring, supportive team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to balance official representational needs with family needs
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and Burmese
  • Ability and experience using Microsoft Office and Email
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the related field
  • Recent training and / or experience in housekeeping, catering and organising official functions and managing a small team
  • Experience in maintaining accounts
