Main purpose of job:

To provide support to the Chevening Officer in administrative duties, the development of the specific projects, events and general requirements of the Chevening Programme in Colombia. The Chevening programme is the UK’s flagship scholarship programme for foreign students to carry out post-graduate studies in the UK.

One of the job-holder's main responsibilities will be to provide support to the project management, finance and organisational support of specific events. In addition, the job-holder will develop social media campaigns and create internal and external communication’s content.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services (sometimes internally and sometimes with external providers) for Political Section events. (For instance, accommodation, transport, catering, audio visual equipment, and special need requirements).
  • Lead social media campaigns and the creation of assets to be used in accordance to what may be agreed to with the Comms team
  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services for Chevening Events.
  • Deliver all logistics and administrative tasks related to the Chevening Programme, including mainly but not exclusive to organisation and delivery of the marketing campaign, track and input of activities’ engagement.
  • Liaise with Comms team for logistics and relevant information. As well as information for relevant media and information material.
  • Liaise with regional Chevening Officers to arrange specific logistics.
  • Keep records of suppliers, services and support financial management of specific events.
  • Identify reliable and value for money providers, and build up good relationships.
  • Provide support to the Chevening and Outreach Officer and Political Team, on general issues. For example, logistical support for events, visits and activities of the CSSF and Human Rights Programmes.

 

Essential on arrival:

  • Currently enrolled in the last semesters of university degree in communications, journalism, international relations or a related subject.  
  • Available full-time.
  • Responsible, committed to the job.
  • Sociable, able to interact and collaborate with different teams.
  • Works well under pressure and against deadlines.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Interest in UK /Government programmes.
  • Knowledge on the usage of photo and video editing software
