View Vacancy - Health & Life Sciences Intern (DIT), Mexico City
Main purpose of job:
To provide commercial and administrative support to the Health & Life Sciences Sector Team within the Department for International Trade at the British Embassy Mexico City. This position will work under and report directly to the Health & Life Sciences Senior Trade Officer in the team.
The successful candidate will work with UK exporters and investors in the Health & Life Sciences sector to deliver an increase trade and investment. The successful candidate will develop relationships with UK and Mexican companies, and deliver an impactful programme of activity focussed on highlighting the UK expertise in Health & Life Sciences.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Organise and provide logistical support for virtual and in-person events, meetings and trade missions related to the Health & Life Sciences sector.
2. Update internal information on the sector (one pagers, databases, calendars, pipelines, project tracking system).
3. Participate in internal and external meetings to promote the UK offer and provide an overview of the Mexican market.
4. Engage with colleagues and stakeholders in Mexico, the LATAC region and/or UK to carry out projects/events.
5. Undertake news and media monitoring to gather information relevant to the sector in order to create reports and newsletters.

Language requirements:
- Language: English and Spanish
- Level of language required: Excellent verbal and written skills.
Desirable:
- Experience or knowledge of the Health & Life Sciences landscape in Mexico and the UK (or ability to gain knowledge quickly)

Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right. The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
