The British Embassy in Paris is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. The Immigration Enforcement International (IEI) Paris team (currently comprised of 1 ILM, 4 ILOs and 1 ILA) work closely with a range of French Law Enforcement and travel industry partners to prevent illegal immigration, document abuse and disrupt Organised Immigration Crime. The additional support team member (ILA) will be responsible for carrying out a range of administrative duties and other tasks to deliver organisational objectives. In addition to France, IEI Paris team also cover Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • General office administration and support to the Immigration Liaison Officers and manager;
  • Monitoring incoming enquiries and maintaining logs and databases;
  • Conduct ad-hoc open-source research and analysis, present findings in a logical and concise manner;
  • Provision of written and spoken translation services for the Immigration Liaison Officers and manager; clearly communicating with French Law Enforcement and other partners on behalf of the Immigration Enforcement directorate;
  • Draft responses and reports for dissemination to UK and overseas partners;
  • Attend a range of events, meetings and conferences in support of the ILO and manager to strengthen the UK-France bilateral relationship;
  • Liaise with partners across the Embassy in pursuit of HMGs ‘one platform’ approach through joint working.
  • Organise logistics and compile programmes for incoming/outgoing visits and events;
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken (C2 European Framework);
  • Strong organisational and time management skills – ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Ability to build, maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications, Outlook, Word, and particularly Excel;
  • High level of discretion and integrity.
  • Previous office/ administration experience;
  • Knowledge of UK/French Law Enforcement;
  • Previous experience of working in an international environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
