The British Embassy in Vienna is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Investment Advisor to join the Department for International Trade team.

The main purpose of the role is to maximise direct investment from Austria to the United Kingdom through active market screening and consultation with Austrian companies.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships through proactive interactions with targeted Austrian companies.

  • Provide advice to Austrian investors on any barriers and on expansion opportunities.

  • Promote the UK as the international business partner of choice in key priority sectors and as an attractive investment location, through the organisation of seminars, workshops, inward and outward missions and the participation at selected trade fairs and exhibitions as well as digital marketing channels.

  • Managing key stakeholder and institutional relations, including industry clusters and associations, government and multipliers with focus on lead generation and raise the profile of the UK as a FDI location for Austrian companies.

  • Maintain and develop investment team data management incl. internal CRM, pipeline and campaign dashboards.

  • Support DIT team with briefings and information for high level visitors, events and meetings related to investment activities in Austria.



Experience of business development and key account management, ideally in an international context;

Great IT skills including capabilities in digital marketing, digital project management, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.


Formal qualifications in business/economics/finance/marketing combined with relevant work experience;

Good project management, including an eye for detail, to ensure that all aspects of service delivery are thought through carefully.

Customer focus: a concern for quality and drive for continuous improvement in the service provided.

Excellent communication skills to work well with commercial clients, external contacts and a wide and diverse Europe team.

Drive and enthusiasm combined with the ability to deliver, working as part of a team.

Resourcefulness and ability to act on own initiative, with an ability to find creative solutions when the unexpected occurs.

This is a local staff position in the British Embassy Vienna; it is not a diplomatic designated position. The position is subject to the terms and conditions of British Embassy employees.

This is a full-time and fixed-term position until March 2020 of 5 days per week. Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for extra hours worked. The annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys 14 Austrian / UK public holidays per year and we are committed to ensuring a work / life balance.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they are legally able to work in Austria. The Embassy is not able to assist with any visa or sponsorship arrangements.

Monthly salary will be €3085 gross, payable 14 times a year for those liable for Austrian tax.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to terms and conditions service according to Austrian employment law.

Visa / Passport requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Austria and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
