The France Network has a unique Estate including the historic Residence and Embassy in the heart of Paris, Consulates in Marseille and Bordeaux and the Office and Residence in Strasbourg for the UK Delegation to the Council of Europe. Our prestigious estate is the foundation for delivering HMG’s objectives in France. As the France Network Estates Manager, the jobholder will work with the Head of France Network Estates to ensure a strategic focus on our Estate, including our offices and our owned residential properties.

 Main tasks

  • Support the Head of France Network Estates in producing and delivering an estates strategy for the network which supports the Country Plan objectives and delivers a safe, modern and pleasant working environment for staff with line management responsibility for one person
  • Work closely with service providers, including the FCDO Estate Operations team and the Facilities Management (FM) provider to ensure that any necessary estates and maintenance works are carried out by the FM team, to an agreed standard
  • Assisting with the management and forecasting of the Post Estates and furniture budgets ensuring resources are used in line with FCDO guidance
  • Work closely with other Corporate Teams including Community Liaison, HR and IT to deliver a joined up approach to Estates Management
  • Support the Management Counsellor on the Post Housing Committee including providing the agenda and minutes of the meetings
  • Other responsibilities/tasks as required to support the Head of France Network Estates and Management Counsellor
  • Fluency in English (C1 CEFR level*)
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams)
  • Be able to multi-task and prioritise urgent work while ensuring that routine tasks are not overlooked

  • Experience of dealing with estate management
  • Possess an enthusiastic, team-player attitude and have a strong sense of customer service
  • Experience or training in Health and Safety work

This is a full-time (35h/Week), and permanent position, work pattern to be working 4 days per week in the office, 1 day from home. 

Occasional travel required.
