View Vacancy - Cleaner / Maid (SVK875)
The British Embassy in Bratislava is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a Cleaner / Maid to work at the Residence to provide housekeeping, cleaning and other services required to keep the Residence in clean and representative state.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Basic household day to day tasks (e.g. cleaning, ironing, vacuum-cleaning, dusting, washing);
- Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen equipment to the highest standards;
- Maintain list of suppliers of detergents and cleaning equipment;
- Maintain the stock of detergents and cleaning material;
- Comply with Health and Safety procedures when cleaning and using cleaning products;
- Carrying out maid’s tasks incl. preparation of rooms for official visits‘ accommodation;
- Assisting at official events incl. greeting guests, setting up tables, cloakroom service, serving tea etc.;
- Reporting any maintenance requirements or repairs needed to the Line Manager;
- Cooperation with Residence and Embassy staff on individual event tasks and requirements;
- Other duties as required (e.g. cleaning of silver wear, assissting with stock checks of household inventory, table decorations).
- Experience in cleaning and / or maid’s services;
- Good customer service skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and be able to work collaboratively with the Ambassador and other residents of the household as well as staff members;
- Able to work accurately with focus on detail;
- Good organisational skills;
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility;
- A basic command of Slovak is required; English would be most beneficial.
This is a full-time position of 5 working days, 40 hours net per week. The person may be required to work at evenings or during weekends. Working hours are flexible and the position is entitled to overtime for extra hours worked. The Embassy is not able to assist with any visas or sponsorship arrangements or cover any costs connected with relocation.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance. The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for Slovakia in order to apply.
The monthly salary for this position is 1,000 Euro (gross) paid 13 times a year. Meal allowance and uniforms provided. An initial 12 month contract will be issued with the intention for this to become a permanent position.
