Main purpose of job:

The purpose of the role is to support the importation of British Digital Economy goods and services to Brazil and the promotion of events, missions and similar to promote the sector. The reputation of the British government should be protected by constantly striving to ensure quality.

Roles and responsibilities: 

Support the Digital Economy team in Brazil by:

  • Providing administrative support for the Department of International Trade (DIT) Tech and Smart Cities sector team.
  • Researching and analysing data within the digital economy sectors in Brazil and the UK.
  • Organising events, speaking and networking opportunities around the country.
  • Speaking with both UK and Brazilian companies frequently to encourage a maturing relationship.
  • Meet with Brazilian and UK companies to understand their needs and present DIT solutions.
  • Recording interactions with UK companies in DIT systems.
  • Organise travel agendas, logistics, etc, for Digital Economy team.
  • Encourage readership and engagement with newsletters, social media, etc managed by the Digital Economy team.
  • Student of a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Economics, Commerce or Business. 
  • Microsoft Office literate.
  • Advanced English is required.
  • Proactive and responsible.
  • Enthusiastic “people person”.
  • Project management.
  • Being able to manage data is a plus.

Essential HMG training will be given at the beginning of the Internship, with on-the-job training available throughout.

Working hours 30 per week, no more than six hours per day, starting and finishing times flexible within 08.00 – 18.00.
