Finance

Main purpose of job:


-  To ensure the smooth running of the accounts section by providing efficient and timely day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures

-   Provide support to political  / social media officer


Finance:


• Assist with budget preparation, management and forecast

• Accounts payable and receivable

• Reconcile transactions and identify and resolve accounting discrepancies

• Keep accurate records of cash transactions, ensuring expenses are within assigned budgets

• Prepare monthly application for GST refund

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly payroll

• Replenish Imprest

• Prepare Annual Income Tax returns

• Making Bank deposits and withdrawals

• Prepare and submit forms for supplier reactivations/new suppliers

• Update internal systems with financial data

• Supporting the Head of Corporate Services with finance projects and tasks when required




Administrative Support:


• Manage a Calendar of Cultural  / significant events that require High Commission representation

• Prepare Note Verbal and liaise with MFA on legal assistance matters

• Assist with the delivery of the Chevening Scholarship programme

• Update post website and social media content

• Back up EA

• Provide secretarial support for internal management meetings and other team management support as necessary (taking in turn with EA)

Essential on arrival:  


  • Associate Degree or minimum of 2 years’ experience in Bookkeeping
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential information
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • The ability to be proactive and take initiative
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Desirable:


Good communication skills; Spanish
