Housekeeper

The Residence Housekeeper is responsible for the upkeep of the Official Residence of the British High Commissioner. The successful candidate will ensure that the Residence is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness at all times. The jobholder will be responsible for cleaning the private and entertainment areas of the Residence as well as maintaining the silverware and linen required for use at functions.  The jobholder would also need to take on serving responsibilities during functions at the Residence.

Cleaning and Tidying (50%)

  • Clean the private quarters of the residence daily and ensure rooms are kept tidy
  • Clean the entertainment areas including the patio and public washrooms.
  • Other cleaning as agreed with the Residence Manager


Function Assistance (25%)

  • Help in the kitchen with clearing and cleaning up after any functions.
  • Flower arranging for any functions at the Residence.
  • Serving of drinks and food during functions at the Residence.


Laundering (25%)

  • Washing household clothes and linen and keeping the Residence laundry up to a high standard.
  • To keep the Laundry area clean at all times.
  • The ideal candidate will have some experience in housekeeping
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well
  • Ability to be effectively carry out work during busy days

Open to Fiji citizens, permanent residents, and partners/dependents of UK-based diplomatic staff currently posted in Fiji. Interstate applicants will be required to meet their own travel and relocation expenses. No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
