Main purpose of job:


Provide administrative support to the DIT & Prosperity Fund teams within the Commercial Section (DIT-Brazil) at the British Consulate-General Sao Paulo.

 

The selected candidate will support the DIT Prosperity Fund Commercial Lead on delivering results from United Kingdom’s Prosperity Fund programmes, which supports inclusive economic growth in Brazil. The successful candidate will also provide support to the Head of Trade in Sao Paulo with administrative tasks.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

 

  • Supporting the DIT Prosperity Fund Commercial Lead on the development of a Secondary Benefits Strategy; also provide support with logistics in trips, missions, internal and external meetings;

 

  • Supporting the Head of Trade with logistics in trips, internal meetings and administrative tasks in general;

 

  • Accompanying meetings with Brazilian and UK partners, both virtually and in person;

 

  • Producing and reviewing internal briefings, documents and agendas;

 

  • Providing support on the organisation of events (trade missions and fairs), official visits, seminars and workshops, if needed;

 

  • Giving support to possible demands from UK partners about Brazil;

 

  • Supporting with finance reports on team’s expanses;

 

  • Devote 10% of the time (monthly) to support the Creative Industries sector in general tasks in Sao Paulo.

 


Essential on arrival:

1st to 3rd year undergraduate student in Public Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, or other related area. (graduating from mid 2021 onwards)


Pro-active self-starter, organised, responsible, communicative and creative, team player, willing to learn and grow as a professional in a dynamic and friendly environment. Knowledge in Microsoft Office package.


Language requirements:

Language: Portuguese and English

Level of language required: Advanced English with excellent writing and speaking capabilities; fluent Portuguese, with excellent writing and speaking capabilities.

The intern will develop the skills required for the promotion of trade between Brazilian and British organizations and gain experience of events logistics and administrative tasks. He/she will also have the opportunity to learn about the Prosperity Fund and its programmes.

We will also work with the successful candidate in looking for ways to combine their academic interests with the work undertaken at the Consulate.


 


30 hours a week, no more than 6 hours a day, starting and finishing times flexible between 08:00 and 18:00.
