Support the delivery of DIT services in Indonesia against set targets and outcomes.

  • Support the identification and development of business opportunities in Indonesia for UK firms in the advanced manufacturing and infrastructure sectors through targeted sales and marketing campaigns. One role will be allotted against each sector. Applicants should select their choice if they have a specific preference.
  • Build and use their networks and research to gather market intelligence on activity in their sectors and identify opportunities for UK business.
  • Provide assistance and advice to individual UK companies, including research, event management, advice on procurement processes and potential partners, and introductions to government.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:


  • Deliver DIT services such as identifying business opportunities from Government, public and private business, advertising opportunities to a UK audience, targeted sales and marketing campaigns, event management and visit programmes, sector and company research, partnership searches and introductions to government for UK companies.
  • Relationship management and in market support for UK companies, based both in the UK and Indonesia, particularly those pursuing high value commercial opportunities.
  • Work with the DIT /Embassy marketing teams to disseminate information of interest to Indonesian and UK stakeholders through a range of media.
  • Gathering market intelligence about developments in high value opportunity projects in the identified sectors by undertaking research, company visits and meetings with relevant officials and stakeholders.
  • Plan and deliver projects, events and activities, including inward and outward missions, seminars, exhibition groups and workshops, including high-level Ministerial and senior official visits.
  • To record information about companies and sectors and engage with a relevant audience, provide briefing as necessary for the Embassy, DIT London, companies, senior officials, and visiting VIPs.












Essential on arrival:

  • A degree plus at least two- five years experience of working in a relevant role such as procurement, sales, management, marketing, trade promotion or business development;
  • Events and project management skills and experience delivering results against deadlines/ targets;
  • A proven track record of successful relationship management with  high- level stakeholders and international clients;
  • Ability to provide oral and written briefings, produce meeting notes and undertake regular email and phone based communications;
  • Strong knowledge in IT applications and MS Windows;
  • Evidence of self- motivation, professionalism and the ability to work under minimal supervision;
  • Evidence of adaptability and ability to prioritise against competing, challenging tasking;
  • Ability to work within a medium sized team;
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa.
  • Corporate Business Development, Sales or Marketing experience would be highly advantageous;
  • Familiarity with the UK is not required, but could be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of/ or experience relevant to the roles, specifically advanced manufacturing or infrastructure;
  • Market research and analysis experience would be helpful but not essential;
  • Experience managing staff

Other information regarding this position:

  • Some evening and weekend work is required on occasion. Embassy Standard Terms and Conditions apply and provide for time outside of working hours to be compensated through Time-Off-In-Lieu.
  • The jobs involve travel, including to the UK, regionally and within Indonesia. A willingness and ability to travel is required.
