View Vacancy - Team Leader, UKVI (Internal Vacancy)
The UKVI section of the British Embassy, Abu Dhabi has several vacancies for the post of Team Leader, Grade A2 (L).
The Role:
To support the high quality, efficient and non-discriminatory UKVI operation in the UAE and enable the meeting of published standards by ensuring that ample support is provided to the Operations Supervisor and the Senior Management Team in effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the visa section.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work directly in support of the Operations Supervisor, ensuring all operations of the team; the processes, daily workflow, structure and staff requirements are always met.
- To effectively use the “Visa Application Statistic Tool” to monitor customer service standards.
- To ensure that any resourcing workflow barriers which will adversely impact the operation are brought to the attention of the Operations Supervisor immediately.
- To proactively identify gaps in training and oversee the training and mentoring of new team members. To tackle poor performance by identifying the training needs and requirements to manage the same.
- To implement process changes through consultation with the Operations Supervisor / ECMs.
- Overseeing the visa application delivery / collection process from the Commercial Partner.
- To supervise the processing and workflow procedure by acting as a liaison between UKVI and the Commercial Partners (CP), checking the manifests against the daily intakes and notifying the appropriate parties of any discrepancies immediately.
- To allocate work fairly and to monitor processes to ensure operational efficiency and agreed benchmarks and target expectations are met on a daily basis.
- Ensuring 100% accuracy in completion of vignette control sheets and all the processes are in line with the latest vignette management guide.
- Compliance with daily reconciliation of vignette stock, ensuring that this is completed prior to departure and those records are maintained in line with integrity requirements.
- Ensure the security of the Visa Writers' Room and equipment is maintained at all times including restricting access to the appropriate team members and managers
- To ensure DPA guidelines and constant weeding as per the latest guidance are followed in the Registry.
- Accurately respond to electronic, phone and written enquires from customers and other stakeholders within benchmark timescales and in line with customer service standards.
- To hold team briefings at least once every week to deliver performance updates and to invite team feedback on operational effectiveness and risks and to consider ideas to improve or address these.
- Line Management responsibility of 5 or more staffs. Reports sickness, leave and other absences to BSU immediately.

- Recent UKVI experience
- Understanding of UKVI section and operation
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in English.
- A working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to work as part of a team and be adaptable to new working methods.
- The ability to prioritise work effectively when under pressure.
- Knowledge of Urdu and Arabic languages is an advantage but not necessary.
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including: 25 days of annual leave per annum, on-site parking and on-site swimming pool, gymnasium and sports facilities.
Salary details:
- Base Salary – AED 7,549
- * Allowances – AED 3,235 (subject to eligibility)*
* Allowances are not payable to staff who receive official provision for such expenditure in some other form.
No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
Conditioned working hours are 38 hours per week. Standard working hours are from 07:30 to 14:30 from Sunday to Thursday.
Eligibility:
- The successful applicant will be required to hold official security clearance.

- You must have passed any probation period
