The British Embassy in Abu Dhabi has vacancies for Summer Relief Entry Clearance Assistant, Grade A1 (L) position in the UK Visas and Immigration Section.

Objective:

To provide administrative support to the Entry Clearance Officers and managers in providing a high quality efficient visa application processing system to meet published customer service standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the visa application delivery / collection process from the Commercial Partner (CP), to include; delivery of applications.
  • Uploading visa application data to the Proviso computer system, amending biographic data as necessary to achieve 100% accuracy with printed records whilst meeting agreed benchmarks.
  • Conducting local alert and sponsor checks on 100% of applications.
  • Reviewing visa application details / supporting documents and linking applicant history.
  • Effective use of the streaming tool.
  • Completing risk assessments and document verification.
  • Sifting/ reviewing visa application details / supporting documents and linking applicant history.
  • Completing vignette production when cleared, trained and required to do so.
  • Accurately respond to electronic, phone and written enquiries from customers and other stakeholders within benchmark timescales and in line with customer service standards.
  • Assist with coaching for new entrant ECAs as directed by the Team Leader and Operational Supervisor.
  • Participate fully in the appraisal process.
  • Participating in ad hoc tasks in support of specific activities or projects or to cover absences on other desks as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Take part in Embassy Emergency Planning and response to crisis as required.

  • Proven ability to work quickly and accurately, with an eye for detail.
  • The ability to prioritise work effectively when under pressure. 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Arabic language- written and verbal.

Working Hours and Remuneration:

The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role. The total salary for the role is AED 8,526 per month at Grade A1 (L); on-site parking and access to on-site swimming pool, gymnasium and sports facilities. There are no other allowances payables as part of this package.  This is a temporary contract for 6 months starting from 01 April 2018 until 30 September 2018.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.

Conditioned working hours are 38 hours per week. Standard working hours are from 07.30 am until 2.30 pm on Sunday to Thursday. There is a 30 minutes lunch break. If taken during the course of the working day, the finish time is 3:00pm.

There may be a requirement for working on a Saturday, with a compensatory day off during the week. Subject to business needs, there may also be a requirement for working a late shift, which is currently 10am to 5pm, for one week in every eight.
