View Vacancy - IT Support Officer
Summary:
To provide support and training to end users of officially supplied IT systems.
Responsibilities:
End user training and support relating to the use of officially supplied IT systems, which may include laptops, PCs, standalone systems, fixed and mobile phone systems, officially supplied software, and video conferencing systems.
Ensuring staff receive training and are aware of current security procedures and rules relating to the use of official systems. Maintaining an up to date inventory of IT equipment.
Management of the embassy mobile phone contract to ensuring VFM and that contracts meet the business needs of post.
Management of support calls from start to completion and liaison with UK support teams.
Financial management of the IT budget and engagement with key stakeholders at post.
Providing support and advice to the Crisis and IT committees.
Advising senior staff at Post on IT policy and best practice.Regional support of Mexico satellite posts.Ensuring support arrangements are in place to cover team absences.
Maintaining relevant skills through internal and external training opportunities.
In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of IT applications and Windows 10. Communication skills, both written and oral.
Customer service
Previous IT user training experience
Experience working in a helpdesk/support environment
Familiarity with office structured cabling systems
An interest in technology.
38 conditional working hours a week allowing employees to work flexibly in order to encourage a better work/life balance, 8:00 – 4:30 from Monday to Thursday and 8:00 – 2:00 on Fridays.
